1. Data controller

APP TEC CAR RENTALS LTD (Reg. No. HE 493616), trading as AppTec Car Rentals, with registered office at Genethliou Mitella, 38, 3036 Limassol, Cyprus, is the data controller for personal data collected through appteccarrentals.com and in connection with our car rental services.

2. What data we collect

  • Identity & contact: name, email, phone, address
  • Booking data: dates, vehicle, pickup/return location, flight number, notes
  • Rental data: driving licence details, passport/ID, date of birth, cardholder name (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Payment data: transaction references processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe). Card details are handled directly by the payment provider and are not stored on our servers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies (see our Cookie Policy)
  • Communications: emails and support correspondence

3. How we use your data

  • Process and manage rental bookings and payments
  • Verify identity and driving eligibility
  • Communicate confirmations, changes, and support responses
  • Comply with legal, tax, and insurance obligations
  • Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms & Conditions
  • Improve our website and services (aggregated analytics where used)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

  • Contract: processing necessary to perform the rental agreement
  • Legal obligation: accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements
  • Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, business operations, customer support

5. Sharing with third parties

6. Retention

Booking and rental records are retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal purposes. Marketing data is retained until you withdraw consent. Technical logs are retained for up to 12 months unless needed for security investigations.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (Cyprus). Contact support@appteccarrentals.com to exercise your rights.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, and reputable payment providers to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we encourage strong passwords and prompt reporting of suspected unauthorised access.
