1. About us & scope

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of short-term vehicle rental services by APP TEC CAR RENTALS LTD (Company Registration No. HE 493616), trading as AppTec Car Rentals, through the website appteccarrentals.com and at our pickup locations in Cyprus.

By submitting a booking request, paying a deposit or rental fee, or taking possession of a vehicle, you (“Renter”, “you”) agree to these Terms, our Refund & Cancellation Policy, and the Rental Agreement signed at pickup.

2. Services we provide

AppTec Car Rentals provides self-drive car rental in the Republic of Cyprus, including:

  • Daily and multi-day vehicle hire
  • Airport and city pickup/return (Larnaca International Airport and Limassol)
  • Basic third-party liability insurance on all rentals
  • Optional collision damage waiver (CDW) and reduced-excess packages
  • 24/7 roadside assistance during the rental period

Vehicle availability, model, and final specification are confirmed in writing before pickup.

3. Pricing & currency

  • All prices on our Fleet page are quoted per calendar day in EUR unless stated otherwise.
  • Displayed daily rates include basic third-party liability insurance and standard mileage (unlimited on selected rates — confirm in your booking confirmation).
  • Prices exclude fuel (full-to-full policy), optional extras, one-way fees, young-driver surcharge, and any traffic or parking fines incurred during the rental.
  • VAT registration pending — VAT number will be published here once issued.
  • We reserve the right to correct pricing errors before a booking is confirmed. You will never be charged more than the confirmed price without your consent.

4. Security deposit

A refundable security deposit is required for every rental, pre-authorised on a credit or debit card in the main driver’s name at pickup:

  • Economy: €250
  • Compact: €300
  • Sedan: €350
  • SUV: €400

The deposit covers potential damage, fuel shortage, late return, cleaning, or fines. It is released within 14 business days after the vehicle is returned in acceptable condition. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.

5. Booking & payment

  • A booking request via our website is an offer to rent. A binding contract is formed only when we send written confirmation to support@appteccarrentals.com.
  • Payment may be collected online (card via our payment provider) and/or at pickup. The rental fee, deposit authorisation, and any extras will be explained in your confirmation email.
  • You must provide accurate contact details. We are not responsible for failed delivery of confirmations due to incorrect email or phone numbers.

6. Eligibility

  • Minimum age: 21 (25 for premium/luxury vehicles).
  • Valid driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • Valid passport or national ID and a credit/debit card in the main driver’s name.
  • Additional drivers must be declared and approved before pickup.

7. Vehicle use

Rented vehicles may be driven within the Republic of Cyprus and, with prior written approval, in other EU countries. Vehicles must not be used for racing, commercial carriage of passengers, off-road use where prohibited, or by unauthorised drivers. Smoking is not permitted.

8. Insurance

Basic third-party liability cover is included. CDW/LDW and zero-excess options reduce your financial responsibility for damage or theft subject to the conditions in your Rental Agreement. Insurance does not cover negligence, prohibited use, or damage to tyres, windscreen, or undercarriage unless an optional package is purchased.

10. Liability

APP TEC CAR RENTALS LTD is a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where prohibited by applicable law. Our maximum aggregate liability for any claim arising from a rental is limited to the total rental fee paid for that booking, except where a higher limit is required by law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cyprus, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence within the EU.
